Matthew earned his Arrow of Light award the end of November, but his leaders wanted to wait and give it to him at Pack Meeting in January. He worked hard and did a good job earning his activity badges in Webelos. He looked so grown up that night at pack meeting. He enjoyed cub scouts, but he is ready to move on to 11 year old scouts. He has some really great leaders. His leaders made an Arrow of light poster for him. They put qualities of animals that they wished for him. For example, the curiosity of a monkey, the loyalty of a dog, and the memory of an elephant. He really loves animals and learning about them so it was the perfect thing for him. Unfortunately, Neil already had something scheduled the same night and time as pack meeting so I had to send him across the bridge to scouting on my own. (Well Joshua was there for moral support) It was a wonderful celebration of Matthew's hard work in Cubs. Congratulations Matthew!! We love you!!!

What a difference a year makes
Last year on January 10th Joshua crashed after his BT Shunt surgery. The doctors called us and said he was like an airplane flying at tree level, he couldn't go any lower. They asked us if we wanted them to do everything possible to keep him alive including putting him on the heart and lung machine. Thankfully, an emergency surgery was able to fix the problem of his over circulation and he was able to stablize. We are so grateful for all the doctors and nurses who prayed for him and worked to save his life that day.
What a difference a year makes. Here is a picture of him today. Doesn't he look good? We are counting our blessings today and everyday that this little boy is still here with us.

She's officially graduated!!
Well Rebecca took her last online final today and we have declared her officially graduated from High School. She took a few classes at Northwest last semester, now she is ready to start fulltime this semester. She is still deciding where her future will take her.
She has her doubts, but I think a good scholarship will come her way. As a graduation gift we got her a laptop computer. She has a lot of talent and skill on a computer so we knew it was the perfect thing for her. I am sure it will come in handy wherever she decides to go next year. You can tell from the look on her face that she liked the gift.
Rebecca, you are a joy in our lives. You are a good girl and set a good example for each of your siblings. We are grateful to have you in our family!! We are well pleased with your accomplishments in graduating, receiving your Young Womanhood recognition and just being good!! I am praying for you to have the guidance you need to go where you should go.
