Math Counts 2020

Dallin has been faithfully attending the weekly math counts meetings on Wednesday mornings bright and early at 7:00.  He has been working hard and having fun doing math with his friends.  On Wednesday, February 5th there was a regional math counts contest here at Northwest College.  The Powell Middle School team took first place.

There is also an individual competition. They do a head to head competition answering questions.  Dallin faced one of his best friends, Dexter Opps in the semi-final round.  Dallin beat Dexter and moved on to the finals.  Dallin took 2nd overall.  So he came home with two trophies, a team first place and a second place individual.  Good job, Dallin!!

A year of seeing our Selfies at the temple

I am so grateful to be able to attend the temple each month and especially love going with Neil. We are blessed to be not too far from a temple.  In 2019 I decided to take a picture with Neil when we went to the temple each month.  I promptly forgot to take the picture in January, but we took a picture each of the other months in 2019. It was a great year of being in the temple together.  Here is a look at our selfies at the temple in 2019:

The Billings Temple was closed the month of December so we took a road trip together

We had to spend the night at Little America in Wyoming on our way down because a storm closed the road ahead

November at the celebration of 20 years of the Billings Montana Temple. We were there in the middle of the night. It stayed open for a day a night and a day of temple light.  It was busy the whole time.

We went to the Billings Temple in December, but didn't take a picture.

David's Eagle Court of Honor

Well he did it, David became and Eagle Scout.  He worked hard and put in a lot of hours camping. I think the camping trips were some of his favorite parts.  He also enjoyed getting the cycling merit badge with Neil. His Eagle project was cleaning up the garden areas at the Powell Valley Care Center so the residents could plant in the spring.  I put together this slideshow of David as part of the Court of Honor.  I really wished that we had done the Eagle Court in December so Matthew could have been there.  Congratulations, David!! You did a great job.
