Scout camp 2018

David, Dallin and Neil spent a week at Scout Camp in Island Park, Idaho.  Neil went because Dallin was only 11 and needed a parent to go along.  Dallin worked hard and earned nine merit badges.  David was able to finish the last merit badge he needs for Eagle.  I think they had a good time.  Dexter Opps and Elijah Clark were there so both boys had friends to hang out with.

Dallin worked hard at the canoeing merit badge.  Neil said it was hard for them to swamp the canoe and then lift it out of the water. It took several tries. Dallin was able to take charge of his group and give instructions so they could do it.

Baseball 2018

Dallin played in the majors division on the Cardinals team this year.  It was a huge jump up in skill level.  It was a rough year for Dallin getting hits, but he played hard and did lots of growing.  His team won the championship game for Powell.  It was an exciting game.  It was a pitcher's duel for most of the game.  It was 0-0 tie going into the last inning.  We were playing the Braves.  We held them scoreless in the top of the inning.  Our pitcher, Brock Johnson, came up to bat.  The Braves coach made the decision to pitch to him.  Brock hit a walk off home run to win the game.  It was an exciting game and season.

Waite Family Reunion 2018

We were in charge of the Waite Family Reunion this year.  We decided to make it easy on everyone and only do the reunion for only one day.  We wanted to have it be easy for Karan and Jim to come so we decided to do the reunion in the Idaho Falls area.  We arranged for the kids to go to the Idaho Falls temple to do baptisms on Saturday morning.  David, MaryAnne, Hunter, Logan, Sadie, Zach and Gabe were all able to go to the temple together.  Mom and Molly went in and did some sealings while the kids were doing the baptisms.  I stayed at Gerry and Valerie's house to watch kids.

After going to the temple we met at the park across the street from Karan's new house.  We enjoyed spending the afternoon together visiting. The kids played in the splash park and had a good time.

Blaine wasn't able to come to the reunion.  Jonathan and Kendra had car trouble and couldn't come.  Mom, Vicki, Gerry and Valerie's family, Candice and Zoey, Scott and Molly's family, and our family including Rebecca and Justin were there.  We had good food and good conversation.  It was great to see everyone.

We drove over on Friday and spent the night at the Snake River RV and campground.  We went to visit with Karan and Jim and see their new house on Friday night.  There was a pool at the campground that Neil and the kids enjoyed.  David didn't feel good on Friday so he didn't swim.  MaryAnne wasn't feeling too good on Saturday.
